The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the European Business Association (EBA) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of lobbying.
The cooperation is aimed at developing effective tools for business entities to adapt to lobbying legislation, improving lobbying legislation, raising awareness and competence of the business community in the field of transparent policies, ethical lobbying, and building integrity, taking into account the best domestic and foreign experience.
"The lobbying institution in Ukraine is only at the beginning of its formation. To ensure that it is properly and clearly regulated, NACP seeks to establish constructive cooperation with all stakeholders and take into account their position, hear problematic issues and help resolve them. In addition, today business communities often organize discussions on the practical application of lobbying legislation and invite NACP representatives to a dialogue. We are ready to support changes that will optimize the implementation of the provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Lobbying”. It should also be noted that a separate area of cooperation under the memorandum is explanatory and educational activities. The signing of this memorandum is another evidence of our common desire to create transparent, ethical and effective conditions for lobbying in Ukraine,” said NACP Head Viktor Pavlushchyk.
As a reminder, in October 2024, the Government adopted a resolution “Some Issues of Establishment and Functioning of the Transparency Register”, which approved the Regulation on the Transparency Register and the Rules of Ethical Conduct for Lobbying Entities. Both documents were developed by NACP.
